When the play goes on, feelings between the actors tend to get out of hand. Prince Kyo doesn't want to get married at all and Cinderella Hanajima asks him if he plans on living his life locked away inside the castle alone until he dies. Kyo, unable to tell if Hanajima knows something or if she's saying this as coincidence, asks her if that were the case, who would he be bothering by doing it? Tohru, being maybe a little too invested in what's going on, dramatically starts to say that she would be bothered by it but quickly realises what she's saying and clumsily apologises for interrupting their dialogue. However, she's already said enough as Kyo looks at her with wide eyes… and then the play ends with a completely bizarre yet modern approach. (Cinderella opens her own yakiniku shop with her sister and are independent women. Haha!)
After the show, Kazuma asks Kyo where Tohru is and Kyo is brought back to the dramatic moment near the end of the play. He sheepishly says he doesn't know where she is at all times, saying it's not like he owns her and Kazuma smiles gently. As Kazuma leaves, Kyo runs to get his jacket and wonders if Tohru actually knows what's going to happen to him. He feels that it is unlikely and that he can't forgive himself for thinking like that.
Back at Shigure's, everyone is watching the play on DVD. Kyo doesn't really want to see any of it so he leaves to his room and begins to wonder what it would be like if Tohru was able to see her mother on DVD. These thoughts bring back all of his memories of Kyoko and he thinks back to the stories about her life that he told him, how she met her husband and how she had Tohru. While thinking, Kyo falls asleep and begins to have nightmares about Kyoko's death. He sees Tohru's bloody body on the ground and her blood on his hands, and he wakes in a sweat.
When he goes down to see what everyone is doing, he look at Tohru and wonders… could it be that SHE likes him? He feels shameful for thinking such things because he feels he doesn't have what it takes to be with her and that the nightmare he had was a warning to stay away from her. As Tohru makes him an adorable cat-shaped hamburger, Kyo thinks to himself that he's just imagining things.
